Welcome

Moving Pictures provides opportunities to refugees to get behind the lens in order to create their own images.

Moving Pictures works with people from Burma's Karen community who have been resettled to the UK. More than 150,000 refugees from Burma are living today in refugee camps in Thailand. Some camps have been there for more than 15 years, and many young people have never lived outside the camps.

Now some families are finally on the move. Over the last two years a number of refugees from Burma have been resettled in countries around the world — including the city of Sheffield, in the UK, where the Moving Pictures project is taking place.

Moving Pictures workshops provide opportunities for people to create their own images. We have shared many of these images — as well as stories about life in the UK — with other refugee families still waiting for resettlement.
